TWO ENGLISH GIRLS (1971) C 108m dir: Francois Truffaut
w/Jean-Pierra Leaud, Kika Markham, Stacey Tendeter, Sylvia Marriott, Philippe Leotard, Marie Mansart
Tender story of two English sisters in love with a young Frenchman (Leaud) in Paris before WWI. Based on a novel by Henri-Pierre Roche, whose only other book was the basis for Truffaut's masterpiece JULES AND JIM. This story is a reversal of the triangle in that film (which had two men in love with Jeanne Moreau), but it is not quite up to the high standard of the previous effort. Nevertheless, quite interesting.
