WONDER MAN (1945) C 98m dir: H. Bruce Humberstone

w/Danny Kaye, Virginia Mayo, Vera-Ellen, Donald Woods, S.Z. Sakall, Allen Jenkins, Edward Brophy, Steve Cochran, Otto Kruger, Richard Land

From The Movie Guide: "In one of his most likable films, Danny Kaye takes on a dual role, playing two brothers --- one an entertainer about to marry who is killed when he witnesses a mob hit, and the other an intellectual who is in love with a librarian. The dead brother's spirit approaches the living brother and asks that he help bring the murderous mobsters to justice. Since the egghead is afraid to get involved, the spirit of the dead brother enters the body of the living one. Not surprisingly, this causes a great deal of confusion, especially for the two women who are now in love with him, the librarian and the dead brother's fiancee. Filled with lots of laughs, WONDER MAN features a splendid performance by Kaye that is spiced with verve and zeal."

The film won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects and was nominated for Best Score, Song, and Sound.
